Out for a Duck

I always thought cricket jargon was weird: lbw, backward square leg, silly mid-off, googly. "Out for a duck" means a player has been dismissed without scoring a run. WHERE the term comes from is, to me, a mystery. My cartoon shows the joy when a cricketer catches a batsman 'out for a duck', probably while playing gully -- the fieldsman that is. Got it?

No-salt Cookbook Book Signing

There are regular cookbooks and there are no-salt cookbooks. I'm baffled that someone would actually buy a no-salt cookbook when all they would need to do to eliminate salt in a recipe is to -- add no salt. But, hey, I'm no cook. What do I know? My cartoon shows the ultimate no-salt cookbook book signing event question.

Government Gambling Revenues

Gambling can be addictive -- addictive to both player and to the government getting the revenues from the gaming corporations. My cartoon asks the question: are we so addicted that we may not be caring for those that truly need support?
